You are looking for a campsite close to Saint-Chinian.
About thirty kilometers from the Mediterranean beaches, located in the hinterland of Béziers, via the Fontjun pass (panorama not to be missed), st chinian is quite famous for its wine and wine cellars whose visits and tastings are possible in particular for its AOC st-chinian (mainly red and rosé).
Besides wine, Saint chinian has a rich historical heritage, for example one of the first Ancient Benedictine Abbeys in the region in 826 AD dedicated to Saint Anian, which today has given way to the Town Hall, with its magnificent garden and its recently restored cloister. The Mediatheque and its murals on the stairs, the Salabert bread oven, the parish church of Notre Dame de la Barthe and its 18th century organs, the abbey church, or the house of wines where Charles’ family Trenet grew up there, an old family house and notary which is a must for fans.
While strolling in the village on foot you can discover the hundred-year-old promenade, along the Abbot’s canal or towards the rock mill, points of view not to be missed or the Vernazobre river to immortalize your holidays.
If you fancy a pilgrimage, Our Lady of Nazareth and its panorama is worth the detour.
