The village, which belongs to the canton of St Pons and the arrondissement of Béziers, is a treasure trove of heritage treasures and historical curiosities to discover on foot.
L’hôtel de Ville: a landmark built on the site of the former cemetery, where the war memorial was later erected. The stone obelisk, set on a square base, supports a marble statue of a Poilu.
The Coumiac quarry: don’t miss the Coumiac quarry, a former red “griotte marble” quarry of the highest ornamental quality, classified as a Geological Nature Reserve. Take a tour of the entire village, where you’ll find hidden gems such as theold oil mill converted into a house in 1825, the doors and ancient vaults in the old village center, the Saint-Roch chapel, theSaint-Pierre Saint-Paul church and its well-preserved sarcophagus, the sugar fountain, the Jacquaire house and the medieval house. The Gleizes (church) and Plô (square) fonts will delight you.
The donjon: visible from the surrounding area, dominates the valley and offers a spectacular panorama. The stone bridge (which spans the Orb and gives access to and a view of our campsite) links the two banks of the village and provides direct access to the campsite. It’s also an iconic spot for souvenir photos. For a gourmet touch, stop off at the Cave Coopérative, where you can taste and buy local wines typical of the region.
